Here in Germany there is a dedicated army bomb disposal team that study the post bomb run pictures taken after raids. They can tell from these pictures whether the entire stick exploded or if a dud was among them. They find a couple a week, go out and dig them up. Last week I went to a flight museum in Hanover. It was hard to get to because the police where in the act of evacuating a local house estate because two UXBs had been found. Residents had to spend the weekend with relatives/hotels/friends. It happens so often here, that it no longer makes the national papers, just the local ones, except when this sort of thing happens.
Earlier in the year I built a double garage at the front of my house. Before I got planning permission, I had to have a UXB survey done before I could start digging

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
