Not quite invisible yet, but it's an interesting development.
don't hold your breath, peeping Toms... ;D

I doubt it will ever produce true invisibilty at close range- the distortion will be apparent, which will effectively reveal the position, at least, of the user.
I've heard some experts say that the look of this effect is very similar to what you see in that "Predator" movie... in the movie, of course, they made it look that way so you could tell where the alien was while accepting that he was invisible... but in RL this level of "invisibilty" wouldn't be very useful, except maybe at fairly long distances against a cluttered background.
It'd be like carrying your own "heat shimmer" around with you... in some cases, it'd make you stick out like a sore thumb.

She already threatened me when I told her I couldn't guarantee the safety of the apple pie much longer.  :P

I can imagine Fozzer's glasses getting fogged up from all the steam. And that's before he enters the ladies room. ;D

Imagine walking down the street and seeing semi-transparent, moving shapes like in Predator...

Then I'll know to avoid carrying a gun around as the predators love a challenge. ;D

Time travel is easy: Make a space ship that can tow Jupiter to the mouth of a wormhole.  Then make another ship that can tow another Jupiter sized planet to the other end of the worm hole.  Pull the two planetsin such a way that the wormhole wraps around it self (the amount you wrap it depends on how far back or forward you wanna go).  Once done, enter the wormhole and BAM your back/forward in time.

Only one flaw in your genious plan: It's pretty hard to tow gas planets.. ;)

Just because you don't see it every day doesn't mean that it isn't possible. ;)

P.S. I don't watch star trek. Don't know about Jake though... :P
