Agreeing with Akula Dude, i am currently taking web design classes, and It is a bitch trying to get my projects to appear the same on IE and FF.

The HTML standards set by the W3C are meant for the majority of browsers to display the page the same, this is why you should strictly follow it, but seems pointless when  one of the biggest browser known to man can't display it correctly

Try Firefox if you haven't and see what your missing
