I don't think it's sick at all to recreate a real life crash in flight sim. Infact, given the right model, it could give investigators a decent 3D realtime image of what DID happen if they had the proper data to recreate the incident. Some people could recreate the scenario to see what would have happened if the flight didn't go belly up. Others to see if they themselves could handle the situation. Some may even do it to get the experience of what it would be like if he or she were the pilot in that situation. It's a matter of experience. Being in a plane crash of this magnitude doesn't happen everyday, Maybe someone wants to see what it'd be like.

Ijineda, I think your taking this a bit too seriously. It is a game after all, simulator or not, it's a game. Just have fun, and don't disrespect people because they happen to not agree with you. That shows a "great" level of maturity. Let us do what we wish in our own sims, You can do what you want and we'll leave it at that.

I don't think its sick.  it would be sick if they flew it into a building, or posted shots that said "they deserved it" I agree with  Isak in that people wanted to see what it was like, or how they could have handeled the situation.

Yawn, this thread is getting boring over a simple download. If you think its sick then dont download it, simple. Here is a similer thread written a week ago on this forum, and this had hardly any replies, yet its practially the same thing, is this sick as well?

Sick sick sick, if it gives you a laugh, isn't it humour?

You can't judge people when you're imperfect.

On September 11, 2001, on the Zone there was a few FS98 rooms where people were recreating the crashes. One of the rooms was even a hypothetical scenario where fifth plane was supposed to crash into the empire state buildings, and jet fighters were supposed to intercept.

You don't really need to be a "sick" person to recreate crashes. You just need to be childish.

Also, how do you even know people are downloading it to recreate a crash?

Ok this post is getting majorly out of hand.
Ijineda just stared this thread to ask a question, he didn't do it to flame anyone. Some people here just overreact. To those people I say go and have a look in the screenshot forums, Fitter has done a tribute. Which is a very touching way to remeber the lives of those lost. Obviously he downloaded the livery from somewhere, infact, he could be one of those 61 'sick' people. But did he do it to recreate the crash? No. He did it in memory of those who's lives have been cut needlessly short by a tragedy. Can we not just remember those who have died in such a terrible accident? Rather than having a dig at each other?

RIP all.....

At the time of the Bijlmer crash, there were a few simpilots that proved that the plane was able to reach the first assigned emergency runway. So there is something that you can do with a flightsim that might yield interesting results

Alirght, lets drop it.

I never actually "accused" people of downloading it. If simple questions like that make some of you go mad, go to your closest pharmacy and buy some valerian - its an over the counter drug and very effective.

Is it sick when a TV company makes a programme about an aircraft crash complete with computer animations of the event? And is it sick when people watch said programme?

Didn't think so.

No. But it's a valid comparison.

Nope. Theres a big difference between some professional TV studio recreating a crash for the purpose of information and some childish people (or childs) who are getting amused and excited by the same thing.

But AGAIN, I dindt SAY THEY DID IT! IT WAS JUST A QUESTION!!!!

I wouldnt say its sick.  Im not going to get mad at you for assuming people are using it to recreate the crash, I feel that its a valid assumption.  But its not sick, many people might just be curious as to what actually happened.  Heck, I know I am, but Im not going to go and recreate the crash simply because I dont have the time.

Its not like these people are crashing the plane and posting screenshots saying horrible things like 'awesome crash' or even worse 'these pilots were stupid and deserved to die'.  That would be sick
