Amish killings?

Postby Flt.Lt.Andrew » Tue Oct 03, 2006 1:39 am

Just thought I'd bring it up,

That dude killed some Amish dudes- I wonder what they did to him 20 years ago?

A.

P.S: NO "FLAME WARS"! Let's be rational about this. No passing judgement, either.

You expect judgment not to be passed on a guy who executed children in a school from a pacifist community. How exactly do you want us to be rational about this, that is just too much to ask. I am guessing that you do not have children yourself. Nothing, especially from 20 years ago could justify it.

It has been a bad week in American schools, a headmaster killed by a 15 year old. A nutter killing one girl and molesting others before killing himself and now this.
Makes me glad I teach in Hungary! The greatest danger I face is high blood pressure from people not doing their homework ::)

In all my years of schooling, the worse I ever did was about drive a teacher insane.... ;D

He got me po'ed when I discovered a list in his storeroom of students he felt were drug addicts. My name was on that list and it was total war then. I've never done drugs.

My best prank was the infamous biology film. He made the mistake of mentioning that it was 35mm film and it would be shown the next day.

I went to a friend that was working as a projectionist at a local theater that had a red eye show of porno movies every Friday night starting at 1am. He gave me about 15 minutes of film and showed me how to splice it into the other film.

The class I had was first period and I went into his class before hand and did the dirty deed. When he started the movie. He was sitting beside the projector grading papers by the light from the projector. I had made the splice just after the credits and he wasn't paying attention. The porno part started and you could hear the gasps of the students. He looked up and went totally ballistic.... ;D....he tried to rip the reel off the projector with it running....lmao. He got it turned off and immediately looked at me and said, "YOU! I know you did this!" He then left the room to get the dean. When they returned, the movie was normal.

There are 250M people in the US.  There are about 5B or so around the world.  One guy goes nuts and kills a bunch of people and everyone in the US, and lots around the world, get their panties all in a twist about how life is fragile and how we have to be protected from evil people like this.  I say relax.  The day you have to worry is the day when stuff like this becomes so common that it doesn't make it on the news anymore.

It doesnt matter where the malfunction of this guy comes from. There are insane people everywhere in the world - but only in the US they are allowed to buy as much firearms as they wish. I think thats the real problem.

Maybe you should explain to the parents of the all school killing dead children that it is nothing and that they are only getting their panties in a twist. Guess you have no children either.

As you brought it up, this was (allegedly) some nutter who tied up all the little girls in a classroom & shot them through the head in cold blood before killing himself. His hatred was apparently directed on them because they were young girls & not because they were Amish. He might have picked that specific school because of the lack of security. I have no idea what would make anyone do something as terrible as that but it's hardly the actions of a sane human being.

PS. The total of little girls killed is now 5. :(

That's hilarious! ;D
One time, a friend and I completely reversed a teachers class room. She went out to make copies and came back to find herself at the back of the room. ;D

Ok, how many more columnbines are we gonna keep going through? I am now more surprised than ever before about this whole thing about school killings. Every time I hear about this or watch it on the news the first thing that comes to my mind is how poorly that kid [the shooter] was raised by his parents or how bad he was treated in school. I noticed that most of these killings made by the students are the result either bad parenting or being mistreated by other students [ie: bullies].

1. If parents took more responsibility and raised their child to have moral standards and ignore the bullies [like my parents taught me] then the chances of another columnbine started by that child goes down significantly. Unfortunately, more and more parents are beginning to take LESS and LESS responsibilies with their children and they leave it up to the government to do everything for them.

2. If bullies quit bullying, then the chances of another columnbine goes down as well. Many of the bullies I faced in middle school immediately changed their attitudes for the better towards geeks after the first columbine. Unfortunately, there is still a great number of bullies out there who are raised by parents who taught them to do anything to get what they want.

3. Sometimes, it's not even the bullies' or the parent's fault. It might also be the result of feeling rejected or feeling like they don't belong in something, etc. Some schools still have groups that deem themselves to be "popular". And if you're not part of the group then you're considered "a loser" by them. Luckily, I don't see this problem in my local area.

We had that in our year. However the "unpopular" people formed their own group which was actually bigger than the popular one. ;D

A TRAGIC & hopefully unique event. These things are fortunately very rare & happen in all countries.

I feel very sorry for those left behind.

Now please keep this calm & thoughtful. Anyone insulting anyone else here will be banned.

And by then it's too late.  This is exactly like saying the FAA doesn't need to worry about regulating airliners until they're falling from the sky.

Please, please don't make this thread about gun control, that's a gauranteed flame war.
