This is pretty old (March) but read it today...

Gaurav Rajav, 15 year old student from Virginia memorized and said 8784 digits of Pi because his father promised him that if he reached the 10,790 he would buy him an xbox 360.
His father noticed his effort and buyed him the console....

I can memorize it to 10 places, but what the hell was the dad thinking? did he actually think the guy would get 10000 digits?

...the record is 83,431 decimal places..........by some Japanese laddie. He went wrong after 3hrs and had to start again.............commoner. ::)
