A warning for Mr Fozzer and his buds

Postby Craig. » Sat Sep 30, 2006 9:12 am

Well today outside work a motorcycle decided to see if he could drive through a car, he lost. Hitting it at about 50 to 60mph. And the rider proceeded to fly a good 50 feet past the car.
Further reason, I dont like them and hope Foz you remain careful.
The rider was taken to hospital but was able to stand.

I always take great care of my "buds"

Hitting a solid object on a motorcycle can propel one past the handlebars at great speed and there is always the danger of damaging one's buds on the way past....

The thought always brings tears to one's eyes.... :'(...!

Paul...they are now the size of cotton buds, I'm afraid to reveal.... :-[...!!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

LOL... way too much information there, chief!! ;D ::P

Just yesterday on the train I overheard some guy telling a story of how he was almost creamed by an oncoming Escalade that (according to him) jumped into his lane on the highway... I can see whay he'd be upset about that, but I can't understand why he saw nothing wrong with his own action: doing about 130mph on a  highway with traffic...
"I would've wound up in the Escalade's trunk!"
... well, sort of, moron, SUV's don't have trunks, and if you'd been going slower, it wouldn't have been such a close call...open 'er up by all means, that's what those bikes are for- but don't do it with other traffic around!!

I know this sounds vicious, and believe me I love bikes and wish I had one, but every time I see some nitwit a car length in front of me trying to set the world record for wheelies at 85 mph, I pray for him to wipe out so I can roll right over him. I've had enough of these amateur daredevils!
I almost had some clown come over my hood and thru the windshield once as he tried to wheelie up a narrow two-lane mountain road: I'm easing around a blind turn on this steep downhill, and here comes this dumbass, wobbling all over the place on his rear tire, going uphill!! When he saw me, he barely managed to put it back down while still in his lane, and only succeeded in doing so after he'd passed me.
These clowns always take pride in how they almost got hurt, or wiped out and got some road rash, or they did that thing or took that curve that killed so-and-so, but never a thought for anyone else's safety.  Never. Even with some girl on the back of the seat, every ride is a death race for these imbeciles. That's the part I don't understand.

No place for that nonsense on public roads, IMHO... at least not when other traffic is in sight, or anywhere near an intersection.

Rotty, where I work is a very busy and very narrow high street. Lots of pedestrians and cars. This guy doing anything more than 30mph is a danger. So him going in the region of 50 to 60mph while trying to overtake is insane. His bike was completely written off, the front was destroyed, and the force of the impact has not only detroyed the back of the car he hit, but it also caused the boot lid to fly up.
And Mr Fozzer, great post as always ;D

A similar thing happened to my older brother, except he was a passenger on a motorcycle.  A large Buick pulled out in front of my my brother and his friend on their way home from school. I had the horror of seeing my brother face down and unconcious from the school bus window as we passed by. I thought he was dead. Luckily he was only banged up.

Sadly this is a thing i know too well, i've been knocked off twice this year on the same stretch of road, the last time was when i was on my way to meeting TSC in liverpool (flew 30ft down a verge and hit a fence at 40mph) and ended up with a bruised shoulder.

But in the past month i've lost two good biker mate's, one who was knocked of his cbr125 in the lake district and one last week who came off on the A537 (cat and fiddle run) who later passed away in hospital from the injuries  :(.

i know for one i won't be getting on another bike this year.

but for all those who ride bikes on here, keep it rubber side down.

You should ALWAYS be careful on your bike. The funniest one I've encountered was my friend Don, he dropped his bike going down a hill into a corner in the winter on some ice. Skidded along for about 100 yards on his rucksack, got up without so much as a scratch (although the rucksack was knackered) and promptly got run-over by a Volvo. The irony of it was that like most British bikers he was convinced Volvos were out to get him ;D

I don't know what's more scary. Going over the handlebars of your bike (did that a few times myself) or Ozzy looking at his friends melons in a purple balloon. LOL.

Crash ;D

I only have one gripe with motorcyclists. The ones who drive BETWEEN THE LANES AND KNOCK THE REAR VISION MIRRORS.

Still, bikes are incredible fun.

Actually I didn't get much choice. A group of us went to see my friend in hospital and he said "Look at this!" and pulled the sheet back :o
One of the lads took a photo and sent it to Performance Bikes and they actually published it and sent him a free T-Shirt :o :o :o Tells you the quality of British motorcycle journalism really ::)

Worst bike crash was when i was waving backwards at my sister and rode directly into a park bench. The good thing was that i didnt go entirely over the handlebars, i hit the bench. The bad thing was that i took all the skin off my legs by doing so.

Not as bad as being hit by a car or anything like that, but it still hurt  :'(

Sorry to drag this thread back up, just want to add something:

was at a good friend of mine funeral on thursday, and there was at least 30 bikes following the hearse to the crem, stopping the traffic, i was amazed to see how many cars actually turned off there engines to let us pass and not try and force past us.

small memorial vid r.i.p Jack.
