English, but sounded German.........Probably a program made in Glasgow  ;D ;D

Yes we do have regional accents in the UK. Same in Germany. If I meet a person form Bavaria, I can understand one word in three.

In the UK (England, Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland) everyone speaks BBC English. However, there are hundreds upon hundreds of difficult to understand regional dialects that we use especially and exclusively on forgieners for whom english is not their first language.

So now you know.

The British have an extraordinary talent for speaking foreign languages. If people don't understand what we're saying we simply shout louder until they get the message. :D

I'm all for it myself. I might not understand everything they say but regional accents fascinate me. You've all heard of Beatlemania from Liverpool. Here's a clip of dear old Adge Cutler & the Wurzels from deepest, darkest Zummerzet. ;) [url=http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~gunning/ra/wurzels/arvest08.ra]Don't Tell I, Tell 'Ee

PS. I find broad Glaswegian & Geordie almost unintelligible. No, not almost. It IS unintelligible. ??? :D

My accent depends on a couple of factors. Firstly whom I'm talking with as I tend to slip into their accent (Dave once heard me talking in Kiwi! Looooooong story). And the second factor is how much beer I've had. The more I drink the sillier I get. Normally I have a very neutral accent but I can be a Loopy Londoner, Welsh half-wit, or Boring Brummie depending what is required for the purposes of entertainment ;D

..as for accents...

When I have had too much beer, (like Ozzy), I just dribble, fall down, and no-one can understand me...

Don't worry about it -- if your looking down at the celing and still falling, it might be of more concern. ;)
