Motorway wrong-way driver banned

A 63-year-old man has been banned from driving for five years after he admitted driving seven miles down the M4 near Swindon in the wrong direction.

Ali Abdo, originally from Yemen, caused seven separate accidents as he drove into the path of oncoming traffic.

He was caught driving at 80 mph back to Cardiff after picking his wife up from Heathrow Airport in February.

The judge at Swindon Crown Court gave Abdo a three-month prison sentence which is suspended for two years.

Listen to the traffic news here in Germany and just about every other day you here about what they call "ghost drivers". Unfortunately when you drive into this sort of ghost you get more that a shiver. What amazes me is these idiots carry on driving. You would have thought that it is only reserved to people who should have given up a long time ago, but it affects all age ranges. Getting on the Autobahn the wrong way takes a lot of doing in the first place too. Some people are just a waste of a good skin and stealing air that is really needed to keep asthmatics alive!
