Not good news. One wonders if they were filming at Elvington in a jet powered car... :(

Hope he pulls through...

According to the BBC article his jet car ended up on it's roof. Nasty. I hope for his sake his teeth are ok, cause otherwise he'll get it in the neck from the other two should he recover.

Sky news have just reported Richard as 'stable' - so at least thats a slight improvement.

Lets hope he only improves from there. Stable is much better than critical. It means they don't expect him to die at any moment. :P

I saw that on the news. I think he looks to make it. Pity for him though - a real setback. You think he'll continue?

From what i've heard one parachute deployed, the car veered and ended up on its roof, dug into the ground.

As for Hammond, I'm fairly sure he'll survive. It's just a question of whether there is any lasting damage. There is a strong possibility of severe brain or spinal damage but
"He was regaining consciousness at that point and said he had some lower back pain. But he was drifting in and out of consciousness a little bit."
; a good sign. If he was able to talk it may mean that he has not suffered instant brain damage and the fact that he could feel pain in his back is a Very good thing.
