you wont find any hotel rooms now, they will have been booked up for the last 5 months.
I am hoping, but not certain yet, to go on the sunday. 50/50 right now.

I know, it was shocking to see just how long they had been booking from :o

Anybody know what's displaying on what day? I tried googling it and visiting the RIAT site but couldn't find a programme....anyone know where to find one?

I believe at Fairford most that display saturday will usually also display on the sunday. The participants list is on the RIAT main site.
The actual program isn't made up till a few days before.

Ooo, you're in for a pleasant surprise!

http://www.airtattoo.com/showcontent.as ... 0000000312

MiG-29OVT, MV-22 Osprey, Mil Mi-24 Hinds, Gripen, F/A-18, etc etc!

I'm a bit ticked off that I can't make it this year :(

I did indeed visit that page Tweek, thanks for the link, but it doesn't show what's flying on which day - Saturday or Sunday. :)

EDIT: I was just thinking - would be cool if all us simV guys could meet somewhere at the show, wouldn't it?

needle in a haystack would best describe finding a meeting place ;D
You wont get a flying program yet, that'll only be done the week before or so. No aircraft is certain to show up till its actually there on the day.

I'm definately going on the Saturday! The line up does sound awesome, last year was a bit average :P

About a meeting place, I say we meet next to a plane ;D ;D

No seriously, we should meet up, I suggest the static B52 as it's the biggest thing there! Now we just need to agree a time and were off!

Hoping to see lots of you there!

By the way charlie, It isnt that far to RIAT from Exeter, from my house in Bristol it takes an hour and exeter takes 1.5 hours so thats only 2.5 hours. Relatively short in my book (speaking as someone who regularly goes to York and back on the train in a day a total of 8.5 hours!)

what time does it start?

well i would think that around 11 or maybe a bit later on at about 2 would be best.

and th B52 would be a great meeting place idea, or even we could meet at the sky sim tent, and that way we will have at least one more sim Ver there, town.

well thats my sugestion

cheers

I've had my RIAT ticket pinned to the wall for months now  ;D

As with Waddington this weekend, I don't know which day I'm going - unless there's a particular display on one day but not the other, I'm going to let the weather make that choice for me.

Me and the missus have booked a nice little B&B just outside Oxford for the weekend.  Drive down there on Friday, one day for looking around Oxford, one day for RIAT, and one day (maybe two) to take a leisurely drive back up to Yorkshire.  Looking forward to it  8)

My dad and I did contemplate driving up and back for both days, but my dad said he wouldn't be too keen drving up both days (we'd probably have to get up early in the morning, seeing as the gates open at 7:30AM both days (ouch, that's early :o) but displays start at 10:00am.)

As for a meeting place, if we can all find the B-52, I'll see you all under it's nose / in front of it ;)

Sounds workable; how could you guys miss each other when you're right under the nose ;).

I can't flap my arms fast enough to take off and I'm surely not swimming the Atlantic so about all I can do is hope you have a good time. :)
