Forza Italia!  ;D

What the heck are you saying? :o

FORZA AZZURRI!!!

or

VIVA ITALIA!!!

of

FORZA  L'ITALIA!!!

I can understand, not what you wrote. Lets's keep out of politics here, alright? :P

Don't look at me that way. The fault is not mine. My surname does not begin for "B" nor I ever was from Lombardia (no offence meant for Lombardia itself nor its OTHER inhabitants). ;)

PS
SIAMO GRANDI!!! FORZA AZZURRI!!!!!

Yes.......what a shame they're all now going down for corruption! Yep, almost the whole team  ;)

Welcome to the new world of football as we know it - get paid obscene amounts of money for doing very little - and even that's not enough. Then throw a few games to get your hands on even more.

In the UK the Budweiser ad got it about right "What do you think of the diving?", asks one American commentator. "I thought I was watching football" says his colleague. Many a true word.......

The most tainted and disappointing World Cup I've ever seen - fitting it was won by the biggest crooks in the business. FIFA have done for football what Bernie Ecclestone did for Formula One.

Trouble is the ordinary people who fund this farce will never again be able to get their hands on it. I fear the 'beautiful game' is lost for ever.

Whilst it is true that ALL football players get paid obscene amounts of money just to kick a ball about and that it isn't a "game" anymore (it hasn't been that for many many years) i giocatori dei azzurri non loro sono colpevole. Penso che sia i capi delle squadre. Probabilmente le squadre come Juventus, Inter, ecc ecc saranno degredati a serie b opure anche serie c.
And how about this for corruption -- Zidane was voted man of the match!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess it hurts to lose, and we Italians know one thing or two about the subject, if one looks at the recent World Cup and European Cup history.  ;)
But at long last, we have our (100% deserved) victory.
Many foreign papers have tried to delegitimate Italy's team victories by putting forward the well known Serie A scandal. Some even went as far as calling the whole Italian people with bad names, under the protective umbrella of satire.  8)
As far as the scandal is concerned, rest assured that the guilty will pay; but as vololiberista wrote, we're talking managers and referees here, not players. The whole "Calciopoli" thing did not affect WMM Germany 2006 by the slightest bit. If anything, it gave our players a strong motivation to show what they're really made of and a strong team spirit.
True, this has not been the best World Cup as far as good football playing is concerned, but Italy emerged as one of the best teams in the competition and in the end deserved the victory without a shadow of doubt. Brazil was promising and disappointing. Spain and Argentina looked worth the finals but did not attain them for several reasons. Germany and France were solid good teams, we played them head to head and won. Now let us celebrate in sportmanship!  :)

Yes - one of the greatest tragedies of the whole business. Not just a match but a great player and sportsman's whole career and reputation destroyed in a moment. What he did was unforgivable - but what if he hadn't been provoked by the Italian player. Would it still have happened? I think not.

This kind of provocation was going on the whole tournament with certain teams - and I'm afraid Italy was one of them. First no-brain Rooney with Potugal and then Zidane with Italy.

Was the price worth it? One of the game's greatest heroes destroyed in the pursuit of winning at all costs.

I'm sorry, Italy's victory was devalued because of that incident and the reputation of 'football' with it if this is what it takes to 'win'.

"Losing is hard to accept but Italy has played a great World Cup and won, we can't argue anything about that... the only thing I have to say is 'Bravo Italia'".

Errrr.... yeeesssss but he does have some slightly vested interests.... ::)

Oh, and for the first time even he was criticised for diving. Imagine that - a footballer with that kind of talent says 'if you can't beat em, join em'.

Very sad.
