Independance day is great, I like fireworks. However my dad tells me that his house gets literally shelled every year by drunken idiots in the neighborhood below. We live on a hill, and appearently the yahoos fire their large, illegal morters in this direction thinking that no one lives here, or not caring. It has started brush fires, blown limbs off of trees and broken windows. What do the cops do about it? not a damn thing! So, it looks like I'll be spending this holiday putting out forest fires and trying to calm down frightened horses. ::)

Fortunately, it didn't dissapate in an explosion of firewoks and smoke (no matter what it looks like at take off).

There's all kinds of ways to deter them from doing it again. You just need to be a little creative, and they'll never bother you again ;D

Everyone knows that holding the high ground is good tactical advantage.  Just join the party!  Your illegal mortars should have a much greater effect on those below than theirs have on you.  :)

see you guys get all the fun. the fireworks part which im mentioning specifically.

in Illinois it's illegal to set off any launching firework & any dynamite (M-80). so were stuck with the ground stuff, which is cool... i guess.

so im forced (oh no it's terrible :P) to resort to making my 1 hour trip to Wisconsin for the border stores (stores closest to illinois selling fireworks) or 2 hour trip to indiana, depening on how i feel. ::)

i spent my day well. 8:30am, i get up and go to practice (what practice, ramos, you aren't in band anymore!!!) nay, i went cause im now the official photographer for the Marching Mustangs.

i love 3 things of yesterday, my 2gb extremeflash CF card, my Nikon D70, and the beautiful weather. i snapped around 220 pictures, with about 840 to go. now i have to sift through all of them. bleh.

anyway, happy belated 4th to us.

:)Ramos, a day late, a (20) dollar short.

Just to let everyone know: we had no fires this time. The idiots appearently couldn't afford the good stuff this year. ::)
The horses were a little freaked out, but nothing serious.
