Freckles

Don't know if any of you are 'sufferers', but summers back and my freckles are worse than ever!! I know it sounds stupid but im actually so insecure about them...tried loads of stuff to get rid of them (like lemon juice etc...) but to no avail...

Was researching on the net (as you do ;D) and came across this stuff, and looked into it a bit further...and cant see a bad word about it anywhere...

You guys seem like an inteligent bunch, whats your opinions? Does it all sound like a load of bull or could it work??

Any result, if any, will be slight. :P

Could be. When summer comes around I get a bunch of freckles on my arms.

Something to do with the sun, I think. Like how people's hair goes lighter in the summer/after being on holiday.

Freckles are just excessive amounts of mellanin in the skin so this is a load of old nonsense! I do know putting lemon juice on blonde hair in the summer makes it go more blonde as it acts like a bleach!

In the case of the hairs and bumps, those are goosebumps caused by tiny muscle fibers attached to each hair pulling the hair to stand it up. This is a normal response of the human body exposed to sudden cold temperatures. Basically, goosebumps keeps your skin warm.

As for freckles, I normally call those pimples but the technical term is acne [ack-nee]. It is caused by a sudden pooling of a particular substance in a skin gland that later accumulates and results in pimples [or freckles as you call them]. This is normally solved in many ways. In my opinion, the most effective method is popping the sucker out [ouch]. ;D

Melanin is a substance in the skin that gives the skin its pigment. Those who have a lot of melanin are dark skinned while those with less or no melanin have lighter skin and each amount per person is determined by the climate in which the individual's society was raise in.

God, sometimes I hate knowing too much. It's how I got picked on back in middle school. ;D

You probably do know "too much"- freckles are not pimples; they're just areas where more melanin is produced than by other cells nearby.

I find freckles very attractive on women, generally... males with freckles  tend to look like Howdy Doody, however. ;D

LOL... ;D...!

...just what I was thinking, when you mentioned Pimples, (Acne)....in respect of freckles....LOL... ;D...!

Although I have dark hair and a "Fresh" complexion like my Dad, I also have freckles on my arms which I inherited from my Mum, who was a fair-skinned, auburn-haired Lady, and "freckled" all over..!

Together with the "Moles" I have on my skin, I have to be very careful to avoid bright sunshine, and keep my skin covered during the Summer!

I have no problems with them though, I just have to keep a wary eye on the Moles, because they can turn cancerous...!

That's some of my body described to you in intricate detail...
..is there anything else you would like to know before I remove my trousers....?
LOL.. ;D...!

You have moles on your trousers...???... must be the little four-legged kind; now we know why they're blind! ;D

I never had the inkling to check my mom all over ::) but most of the info is the same except that I've only had very few freckles here and there. I had a freckle atop my wrist and when asked the time and I had no watch, I'd say, "It's a few hairs past a freckle." The freckle faded away quite some time ago, however, so now I have to respond, "A few hairs past a missing freckle."
I only remember having moles, when I was very young, on a finger, a knee and a big toe: I chewed them off -- just to let you know that I practiced early on at putting my foot in my mouth ( to think that I just came from a post about giving out too much personal information ::) )  ;D
