Actually, Fathers Day is today in the US, as I thought. You guys had me confused, so I googled it.http://www.holidays.net/father/

Not that I'm complaining but Father's Day is a fairly recent tradition. It originated in America where it was proclaimed an official public holiday in 1966, finally becoming law in 1972. I don't know when it was first introduced in the UK but it's not a public holiday here or in other parts of the world. AFAIK

It seems a tad strange to me that a public holiday is celebrated on a Sunday (3rd Sunday in June) when the majority of fathers wouldn't be working anyway.

PS. My daughter generally sends me a card & a little gift. She's always been good at remembering things like that but it's looked on here as just another scam by the greeting card companies.

I've had a great Fathers day, these two cards from my daughter, along with being presented with breakfast in bed by her, a bowl of Frosties and a Can of Lager(!)  :o

Aw, she's only 9.  ;D

When I was in High School, I was sitting outside a HS football game on a bench with my girlfriend.

A flasher walked up and did his duty.  :o

I about fell off the bench laughing at my girlfriends reaction. She calmly looked down and said, "Well, God Bless Tiny Tim!"  :o

Hagar, you should celebrate in Germany, it is a bank holiday here, 25th May.  Shame I still had to work. Can you believe that people STILL want to fly when others should be at home with their feet up? :-/
