Yup lovely game but an expected win for Italy! Ghana did play well though!

Tomorrow's games

South Korea - Togo ( 4th dutch coach in action!) Go South korea!

France - Switzerland ( Could prove tricky for france)

Brazil - Croatia ( I MUST SEE THIS ONE!!)

another fine day of football for me tomorrow!

Bit late but yesterday's games were mostly kinda boring!

In the end the 4th dutch coach got the 4th dutch good result! so... Go Dutchies!! Go South Korea!

2-1 SK vs Togo who were not bad actually!

France ot lucky with the 0-0 draw against Switzerland who were better! Also the best match of the day!

Brazil got the expected win against Croatia but were far from the level people were expecting... one might say they got a lucky win!

Today's matches will hold the end of the first round series and the start of the second round of the group stage!

Spain vs Ukraine... Will it be Schevchenko who will lead his team to victory against a spanish side struggling to find the back of the net!

Tunisia vs Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.... can't say much about this one.....I expect Tunisia to win

And then for the highlight of the day.... Judgement day for the polish team as they take on guest nation Germany! A draw is required  the least! A win for comfort! Or will it be Germany that will be the first to qualify for the 8th finals.. the question is... will the german defence hold it's line....

I think today is gonna be a magnificent day!

SO it was!

Surprisedly Spain could find the net and did that 4 times!

Spain vs Ukraine 4-0 .. expected victory but not by those numbers!

Saudi Arabia vs Tunisia ended in 2-2 I bet the Saudi's were really dissapointed after scoring the 2-1 in the 84th minute and still not win!

And then for Germany vs Poland..... Lovely match but the end result was deserved. Too bad it had to happen in the last minute though... With this game we have our first 8th final candidate being Germany.. Poland is the first to exit..

Germany - Poland 1-0

Today's Matches

Ecuador - Costa Rica ... Middle/south american temper on the field as Ecuador will try to make sure their survival of the group stages... A win for ecuador will mean that the survivors of this group are determined.

England vs Trinidad & Tobago... A colonial match this one.. According to Leo Beenhakker who is the T&T Coach, his players have been looking out for this match ever since they heard of it. The question is.. will England be able to score their first goal? Will Trinidad be able to repeat a stunt with their main man Dwight Yorke in defence!

Sweden vs Paraguay Last chance for both teams! Should be a spectacular game!

One last thing....

GO TRINIDAD!

Bit late..

Congrats to Ecuador who got a deserved victory over Costa rica and have placed themselves for the second round...

Sem-Congrats to England for Beating Trinidad 2-0.... you had to wait long for the goals Since Trinidad put up a brave fight... at least I'm happy that Crouch and Gerrard scored instead of Rooney and Lampard

The group is very close as sweden beat paraguay 1-0... Paraguay is out. It's between Trinidad and Sweden for the second place! Who would have thought that?

Today:

Argentina vs Serbia montenegro just ended in a whopping 6-0 victory for argentina.. Serbia is out!

Tonight at 2000 GMT Holland vs Ivory coast! Orange vs Orange! Who will win? Go Van Persie!! Go!

And also Angola vs Mexico...Will Angola save some african honor or will mexico wrap it up?

1 exciting game down.... 2 to go!

hahahaha, those cheating italians got b*tch slapped by the US. 1-1 against a 9 man team that looked so much better. Games like that are the sort I make an effort to show a tiny bit of interest in. ::)

Indeed. Strangely for me I spent the last 40 mins hoping that the US would score (well they did to be fair - dodgy call by the linesman! ::)) or at least hold on...

Inconsistant officiatting unfortunately spoilt the game. Easily could have been only 18 players left at the end...

agreed :-/

To be fair to the linesman for the US goal he made the right call, because the american player made an attempt to play the ball when he was offside, the linesman had little choice. Had he stayed still or moved to jump out of the way of the play, the goal would have stood.

Good Job Ghana!  They deserved a win.  Kind of a follow-up to Angola's game for the African teams  :D .

As for the USA - Italy Game, that Referee had no idea what he was doing  The Italian player (de Rossi?) deserved the red card for that undeserved elbow on McBride.  But I don't believe Mastroeni or Pope deserved a Red Card.   :-/

Funny, this referee was one of the five suspended at the 2002 World Cup for "irregularities."

To be fair, Pope's was a deserved 2nd yellow, so the ref had no choice really...

because the american player made an attempt to play the ball when he was offside, the linesman had little choice. Had he stayed still or moved to jump out of the way of the play, the goal would have stood

I'd say it was a 50:50 call. It appeared to me that McBride did nothing other than move out the way of the ball and line of sight of the keeper if anything... :)

The key would be to stay out of a topic your not interested in.
Which is ironic coming from me in this topic I know, its a conunderum. ::)
