Fortunately, I am ex-directory, (My 'phone number is not in the Telephone Directory book), so I don't get nuisance calls.
The only folks who know my number are my immediate family members.
I also instructed my 'phone company to block any sales calls, etc, which they seem to do... ...!

If my phone rings, I let it ring out, and then dial 1471 to detect who made the call, and then ignore it if it's someone I don't wish to talk to... ...!

Peace reigns... ...!

(My annoying Mobile 'Phone is permanently switched off. For emergency motorbike breakdown use only)...!

P.S. I really enjoyed reading Triple_7's post regarding "Military pressure". Well done mate!...you do what you want to do...The Military option is for an early death in combat!... ...!

i've had these the past couple of weeks, with them trying to offer me *more money saving offers and better phones*, if i'm near a computer or a music system i generally put "Rage Against The Machine - Killing in the name off" at a set part and they soon hang the phone up  :-*.

........We do BTW here in the UK have system whereby you can opt out of this sort of thing and on the whole it works well. I used to be totally fed up with these calls but now get maybe the odd one every couple of months, usually telling me I have won 2000 quid off a new kitchen. I tell them they are breaking the law and to just send the 2000..................

Exactly! I don't have a landline, but occasionally my cellular-operator will call me. They start with: can I talk you about ... (whatever) - I just say "no, thank you" and hang up... done...  ;D

...I've found it's the choice, depending upon what mood you are in at the time of the call...

If you have nothing better to do, have fun, just piss them off with comical/insulting replies...
...or...
...If you are busy, or annoyed, just slam the phone down and kick the cat...!

Either way it used to work for me....
The calls stopped...

lol...well I suppose the problem is that you have to break off from what you are a-doing-of every 10 minutes or so.........you know...........pausing the sim or putting down your relaxing glass of Claret or even worse if you are having fun with the missus.........you shouldn't be having your privacy invaded in this way IMO..................commoner

I never recieved "any" calls from a recruiter except from the ones that I have personally visited [I visited both the Navy and the Air Force offices]. And I assure you that these guys were never annoying. In fact, my AF recruiter was the same guy who visited my high school for recruiting many, many years ago. Nice guy.

Other than that, there were absolutely no annoying calls. I guess I was lucky.
