Annoying!!!

Postby RitterKreuz » Tue Jun 13, 2006 5:38 pm

you know, one of the most annoying things in the world has got to be sales calls. I swear to the lord above!!! i just moved to this new place in town, had my phone number changed because my old phone service provider is not available here so i had to change numbers and Wham!!! here comes the influx of sales calls. Most of them come from Dish Network - asking me over and over if i am interested in buying their tv service - of course it is like talking to a brick wall when I try and explain to them that I AM ALREADY A DISH CUSTOMER HOW THE HE11 CAN I SUBSCRIBE TO SOMETHING I ALREADY HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION TO???!!!!

I registered my phone number on the national do not call list last month - it should go into effect any day now. cant wait to see if that makes a difference in my home life or not.

A man's home is his castle, he should be allowed peace and quiet abd to be left the he11 alone while occupying it for the love of pete!!!

My old phone service was provided through sprint. I love sprint. I would marry and have children with sprint if i were another phone service! i was a customer for 4 years with them and NEVER ONCE received a sales call of any kind thanks to their amazing wonderful kick azz "privacy ID service". i love the privacy ID service. whenever your house gets a phone call that is not residentially listed and available to caller ID the phone simply does not ring... the caller goes to a recording that says "Sorry but the person you are trying to call does not accept blocked or unknown calls, at the tone please say your name or company name and your call will be connected... BEEP"

if they dont say anything or they hang up - the phone call is dropped and my phone never rings and im none the wiser that i even received a call... if they do say their name then this lovely female voice comes on the line and says "hello, you have a sprint privacy ID call from... DISH NETWORK SALES... press one to accept the call, press two to play the sales call refusal recording"  BEEEEP (2) lol

Sorry, I just had to vent, it is driving me up the walls around here, im usually at work 4 or 5 days straight and come home for 3 or 4 days and my wife says that 90% of the time the phone rings is those sales calls! i dont know how she handles it. - i just want to live my life without getting these damned sales calls  >:(

i wonder? do they have sales calls in communist China? The sales call has to be the biggest setback that capitalism ever put onto this earth.

Some of the deepest darkest most evil pits of hedes are reserved for these jerks that bother me at my house on my day off!!!

Are you sure it wasn't from my little sister? She was trying to get a job so that she can earn enough money to buy a new cell phone. And guess what, it was a telemarketing job where she simple does the following for nine straight hours and only on weekends:

1. Sit in front of a phone.
2. Wait for the company's computer to "randomly" dial any phone number [whether it even exists or not].
3. Pick up the phone and talk with people who are annoyed by the phone calls.

My sister then quit the job the same day. Gee, I wonder why. ;D ::)

I love to mess with telemarketers. Either act like whatever they are selling is against your religion, or try to sell them something. ;D

Unfortunately, most of the sales call that I get are recordings, so I don't get to do that very often. I do think it's funny when I get one of those recorded messages left on the answering machine. Just something about two machines talking about health insurance cracks me up. :P

I ask them to explain why their product/service is so superior to the competitor's.  Most don't have a clue.

I forgot to mentionthis before:

Don't get mad at the person who calls you, they are just doing a job for which they get paid. Messing with them is alright, because most of them get a laugh out of it. But believe me, they don't like bothering people anymore than you like being bothered. I have several friends who do this kind of work calling for charitys, and they know it's annoying, but it's a paycheck. If you would like to know, the nice thing to do is let them finish their little sales pitch, and then just say "I'm sorry, but I'm really not interested" or "I can't afford it" and then hang up. Some of them are required to try and change your mind three times before they let you go. Just thought I would let you guys know that. Getting mad and yelling at them is a bit like shooting the messenger. ;)

Try military recruiters.  Right now they are worse then sales calls :-/

Started the day I turned 18.  At first it was just one every couple weeks or so.  But then they started flooding in and now I can't get them to stop.  Wouldnt be so bad but how many times do I have to tell them I'M NOT INTERESTED >:(  I know its their job.  But the same one calls me every day at all hours and I've told him a million times to buzz off.  Then what really topped the cake...this month they managed to get my cell phone number >:( >:( >:(  I use it mainly for work and I always answer it.  Same deal all the time.

They always start off with the same ol question regardless of what I'm saying..."what do you plan to do now that you are out of high school?"  They always end up making it sound like if you dont join the military you will be nothing...everything else is just "Unskilled" >:(  I could care less and its getting old...I'm setting my own path and military is nowhere on that road...is that such a crime ::)

According to the last one..."What are you doing now...just flippin burgers...just like youll be doing the rest of your life" >:(  No...working on farms and part time construction making more then I ever could in the military right now...even if there is a 10 grand sign on bonus...Even then...I'de rather flip burgers then be in the military right now :P

Filing complaints wont do any good either :-/

I got a new phone last month.  It's got a 'Do not disburb' button on it.  I'll never have to hear the phone ring nor even answer it phone again, the answer machine now does it all.

ok ok, so here's what you do

*ring*

you: hello?

dish: (whatever they say)

so you interrupt them

you: excuse me, can you hold on for a second?

dish: sure

so put on some waiting music and leave it until they get the hint.

it worked for me once. ;)

Companies have smartened up tho'.  At least around here.  If you only speak Spanish, they might "transfer you to a culturally diverese sales representative". ::) At least in the US only Englush and Spanish are common, so any other language will do. :)

Was haben Sie gesagt?  Es tut mir leid!  Ich kann dich nicht verstanden!

It doesn't matter if it's right or not! ;D
