finally got a puppy!!

Postby Jeph » Wed Jun 07, 2006 11:58 am

after years of being without a pup while in the navy, and quite some time afterwards, we got a purebred samoyed.
shes 7 months, and has all her papers, loves love, and stuffed animals. :D a welcome addition to the family!!!

her current name is Princess, or 'Sessy, but we're slowly going to change her name to Prikitta, norse for Brighid, a celtic goddess.  it may end up being shortened to kita, but who knows. heres the beauty herself!

Samoyeds are bonkers! Really nuts! A family friend of ours who is a priest had one and one night before mass it got loose in the church. Old ladies fainting in the pews and the dog having a great game of the entire congregation chasing him round and round the church trying to catch him ;D Oddly enough all the priest friends of our family (mum being a strict Catholic) are bonkers!

Once the house is finished we'll be getting a Hungarian Pointer (Vizsla) 'cos I have to have short haired dogs (slight allergy)...
My brother-in-law has two golden retrievers whom my daughter likes to use as horses ;D
My mad terrier thing (we think it is a dog 'cos it chases cats) lives in the UK with my mum and is getting old now so it isn't really fair to bring her over. Great dog... totally mental!

Good on you!! I got a Chiuauah (Not sure how to spell it), at the same time I got FS2004. What I did was take a digital photo of her, used my photo program to cut her out and put her in the the panels of the aircraft that would let me. (Fixed Window type.) She looks just like shes sitting on one of the seats in the rear when I look back. Now she flys every where with me. PS. Dont forget to take your dog for a walk every day if you can. Wildie. ;D

and stubborn..she doesnt understand "dont bite" or "DONT BITE!"

she insists on getting my arm or hand in her mouth, and  claming down just enough to where its uncomfortable.  not quite sure on how to get her to understand the concept that im trying to play nice. then, 30 seconds later, she'll lick me.  ::)

.....Jeph, I really shouldn't have to remind you that dogs are pack animals and live by observing the "pecking" order rule..........Normally you the owner, are the leader and at the top of the pack. Don't be fooled by all that tail wagging, face licking rub my tummy stuff...it doesn't really mean he/she loves you. The animal is merely showing it accepts you as the boss dog and grovelling is the way to go in the pack.............FOR THE MOMENT..........any sign of weakness and you will be put down a peg or too with the only means dogs have....a nasty vicious attack, or in your case an uncomfortably hard bite.........they just don't play "nice" they're forever trying to get that bit higher in the hierachy....... Let her KNOW who's boss, she'll appreciate it and be a better pet for you into the bargain...............commoner ;)
