Reminds me of one of my favorite lyrics:
"I eat when I'm hungry,
 I drink when I'm dry,
And if the whiskey don't kill me
I'll live 'till I die!"

Great subject! Truly enjoyed reading the posts. I never knew there were so many smart people here.

H would probably have more info on this than I, but my Dad was a lay preacher for a long time. He still gets invited to speak at some of the smaller churches in the area that don't have a resident pastor. His library is filled with books, and I know he has read every single one of the things, probably more than once.

Besides deciding on a Bible and Quran to read, there are excellent books on the translations of said books.

One thing about the ancient languages, there are so many different meanings attached to a word or phrase, depending on the occasion used etc.

That's getting pretty deep though and maybe you are just wanting to see where/what the similarities and differences between the two Faiths are.

Good luck in your search for knowlege.

Again, it's a great thing to see that we here can share an opinion about a subject without the ammo being brought out.

Kudos to all!!

...well, they were almost right......We ALL burn, believers too, in the end

Unless you depart the earth then yeah, burn will commence when the sun consumes the planet.  After that our collective future depends largely on how much mass there is in the universe: either we disperse indefinately or we collapse down with the rest of the universe to begin again via the next big bang.  I think the second of these fates is more romantic as it suggests so much about the past and future.  A pitty so few of us will be around to see the end of the universe, although I hear there's a great restaurant out there.

I already have a booth reserved at that restaurant. Altough, I don't reccommend the fondu... ;)

Are you the one who's requested the Universal Smorgasbord? :P 8)
Forgive me if I incorrectly edited your quote. Perhaps you meant you want it "All tough?"
