I don't suppose that this would be a good time to point out that civilian alcohol ownership causes WAY more

Yeah Brett but you can normally recover from most alcohol related injuries in a day or two. Bullet wounds take a lot longer in the recovery dept. Especially the cranial ones

Yeah.. but the alcohol induced injuries don't heal as quickly as hangovers..

Worn out livers and drunk-driving fatalities kinda have lasting impacts too..

Only a twit drinks and drives! I had a friend killed this way and the jerk of a judge let him off with a 3 year ban and a 500 quid fine after crushing my friend against a wall whilst 4 times over the legal limit
Oddly enough my mate, like myself, was a biker. Mysteriously the bloke concerned got badly done over by a bunch of bikers one night outside a pub (I was in the Gulf at the time)... the police never found out who did it.... mind you my late mates brother was a policeman.......
The wife and I have a great policy on this, I drink! She drives

My point was (and I think you got it).. that alcohol has a much higher, negative cause and effect than firearms. Many more people suffer on all kinds of levels through alcohol abuse. But that's no reason to keep it from the over-whelming majority of responsible drinkers

It was a loooooong time ago Brett. But it convinced me that one drink was one more than was wise if you were getting behind the wheel.
I've also got a REAL hang-up about people in tin-cans using mobiles And THAT is personal!!!!!!!
