So quick to bash scientific studies

I'm not bashing anyone - providing the work is of some use & not a complete waste of time. It seems to me that some people make a very good living from doing expensive research into things that should be blindingly obvious to anyone, have no practical value whatsoever or both. When the results are finally published they get funding for the next useless project & so it goes on, ad infinitum. Nice work if you can get it.
