To evade a predator they will run in a zig zag pattern to confuse its attacker in hopes of getting away, most of the time directly in front of it.
Predators will almost always attack head on or in a straight line, thus the fuzzy ones chance of survival is upped by doing some zig-zagging.
This has only happened when they were already in the road when I came around the corner; understandable (except for that idiotic crow that forgot it had wings and ran off to the side ::)). When they were already off of the road they ran almost straight across it: the only zigzags they might have then are, again, from tire treads.

Animals can't reconize the difference from, lets say, a lion or a car...
The animals you've known must be really stupid. Our dogs, cats, cattle and even the chickens certainly knew the difference (except that our lions are actually cougars).

Think of it as a Dogfight, bogie on your six what do you do to keep him from nailing your arse?
Unless the plane is damaged beyond effective flight, I stay off the road! ::) ;D

I learned that the hard way! :-[ Ever tried to fit a plane in a parking spot?  The manager still wont let me back at Randalls!  Not to mention the other patrons have a bone to pick at me for finding a Stuka growing from the roofs of their cars... :o

Thanks everyone, good to see that we still mix things up and go off topic here at the V! ;D ;)

Well, unfortunately none of these observations can really be tested in our physics lab but thanks for the suggestions anyways. :)

I think I'll propose something about salinity/conductivity to my teacher tomorrow but I'm afraid it will be a bit too shallow. I need to develop the ideas a bit more. Oh well, the night is young...  ;D

How about oil viscosity in shock absorbers? Failing that the structure of underwire bras could be good ;D

Heres one: Why is it that everytime I fix something on my car, something else breaks. If I have a problem with my muffler, for example, and I fix it right away then one of the headlights will burn out, but if I wait and don't fix it then nothing else will happen. ::)

LOL...I thought that was just mine :P  Only it wasnt a headlight after my exhaust was replaced it was a massive hole in my gas tank, then battery replaced, and..........whatever might be next ::)  Its about time for another problem :P

Observations....

From awhile back...a large buck can stop an F-150 going over 60 miles an hour...Neither truck nore buck win in that case :-[

And one from last night.

You can walk a fence line right near a bull...he will not charge...but if you stop to take a leak, you had better be prepared to zip and run :o  Even an electric fence will not stop a raging bull :-X  Better yet...just hold pants up and run...worry about zipping later :P

Angle of the sun in relation to your position on the Earth, the sun has to shine through more of the atmosphere and the dust reflects the light making the rather funky red effect...
At least I think that was how my physics teacher explained it many many many years ago.........

Moisture as well as dust ....... Hence the red sky in the morning shepherd's warning ..... loads of moisture in the morning air usually means rain.

Had already walked past the bull and was towards the woods about 20 feet away, back to the fence.  Heard something runnin up behind me, looked back to find the bull in full charge :o  Found myself taking refuge on top of the first floor of the new house :P     Ended up having to repair the fence after that >:(

And to think.....all i wanted was to just piss in peace ::)
