what are your lows/highs?

low: $2.89 @ Marathon            per 9/10th's gallon.
high: $3.03 @ BP/Amoco

just over $6 a gallon last I checked. cost me close to $100 to fill my car up before it blew up.

LOL Ecko - your right, I think 99% of 'the price of gas' threads have been started by our American contingent. I wish my petrol was only $3 a gallon

I agree with you guys.  We have it easy here, but all people can do is complain.  See HERE, and they all seem so ready to blame it on people who really don't have much control over it.  It's the old NIMBY attitude again (Not In My Back-Yard, e.g.  "Oh yes, we do need a new landfill so we don't kill anymore helpless grass-hoppers, but don't put it near me, it will stink up my pretty flowers"), which can become a problem when everyone has that attitude.  People want all the gas, right now, but they don't want to have to pay more for it now than they did five years ago.  Sheesh people, it could be worse.

Gas goes up $0.05 and people nearly crap themselves. :-/

$1.78 and yes, it does change how I drive. I take a commuter van 112 miles roundtrip a day to work. I drive 12 miles to catch the van. If prices keep going up a few of us will commute to the commuter van. How awful is that. I won't be going shopping as much either.

Currently at $2.85 at around 7:30 PM.  But its gone up a few cents 3 different times today so its more then likely higher.  My friend works at a gas station I normaly go to.  Talking to him its going to be hovering at the $3.20 mark before to long :-/  

Think we have been through this discussion before...its nearly impossible to compare Europe to the US in this situation.  Theres many factors in how it affects people.  Wages, taxes (all...not only gas,) public transportion, distances, and many other things....

A lot of the problem in my particular area is that everything is so spread out...mostly farming communities.  If i want a Walmart the closest one is about 20 miles one way.  Nearest city with decent stores to take care of all your needs is about 18 miles.  This little town doesnt offer a whole lot of choice...due to that most stores tend to up prices more then you would find elsewhere >:( Work averages 40 miles a day, thats with my truck that averages 10-15 miles to the gallon, without a truck i couldnt do part of my job since i have to haul various things about every other day.  Gas adds up rather quick.  Just put $75 in it today.  That wont last long :-X  Even without many bills when gas just keeps going up I keep going deeper into problems.  If it hits the $3.25 mark like after Katrina then I will find myself making negitive money....in otherwords paychecks wont be matching what is going out eventualy leading to debt.  Its a bad situation and as much as ive looked this is the closest job I can find thats worth my time :-/  Its hard when theres not much money coming in...that healthy paycheck after taxes is nothing >:(  One paycheck I recieved was for 3 weeks...about a $1000 gross pay...after taxes....about $700

Wage....Job pays by the job not the hour...I make an average...Aprox $10-$12 an hour.  

Min wage for Indiana is $5.15 an hour......

Gas goes up the prices of everything slowly goes up.  Wages dont tend to go up :-/

now here in suburban chicago, gas prices are higher becuase we are supposedly in a "wealthier" neighborood that chicago itself.

i just saw the gas price at  philips 66 go from 2.94 in the moning to 2.95 during lunch, to 3.01 after school. all ni the same day... thats nearly a .10 cent raise... now am I gonna get a raise in my paycheck to compensate, OF COURSE NOT!!!

what are these select few doing with their money anyway? it seems they gather but never spend...
