obviously. Thus you put it in the freezer for safe keeping. I am assuming that the photo was either done that way or it was a personal photo done right after the incident.

Then it would get bigger due to water vapour freezing to it whilst in the freezer. Keeping it in it's original state is damn near impossible so any tests could not be totally conclusive.

air tight container, with a ball of ice that size not enough contaminated water could effect it enough to screw up results.

Why? a standard zip lock bag dump it in the freezer till mr scientist guy comes round to take it away in a cooler or whatever and there ya go.

even if it did come from an aircraft they have no way of knowing when and where it will fall and land, also even if they did   how would they catch it? my solution:
