I personally don't see whats wrong with GMT. I'd quite happily live with that all year round.

I don't even want to get started on DST, it's political stupidity, just leave the clocks where they're supposed to be instead of trying to decide for the rest of us what time it should be.

My thoughts exactly ;)  I and probably 99% of Indiana said the same thing :-/  Unfortunatly that tiny little select few got their wish >:(

It wouldnt be so bad but they try to make it so complicated now.  Lets change the dates, lets add an hour here, lets change this change that...Hows about they just dump the whole DST deal...we are in the age of electricity...one extra hour isnt going to be that noticable :-/  Besides...Now when summer is here...instead of heading for work about the time the sun comes up im going to end up in the dark >:(  My hours wont be changing just the clocks :-X

Starting next year DST is going to start in March and continue until November, now that is getting ridiculous, we might as well move the clocks ahead an hour and just leave it that way for good, considering that "normal" time will only be 4 months of the year, what's the point of even tampering with the clocks at all at that point.

Indiana was really a mess once counties were allowed to argue over which time zone they wanted to belong to. Living in Michigan and working in Indiana has always been a little confusing due to DST, but this year I wasn't even sure what the hell was going on once DST time came around. Since we are all changing and remaining in the same time zone, I guess it will actually make it easier, but I will never like it or agree with the logic behind DST.

The whole reason for DST in Indiana was supposedly to make it less confusing for people doing business from outside Indiana. Now however with the mess our glorious leaders have made of the whole thing it's going to be even more confusing.

Some counties in one time zone and some counties in another. All counties changing their clocks twice a year and on top of that add the county that will be in two time zones at once. Government and county offices will be on one time and private businesses and residents will be on another. In other words if you want to mail a letter and the post office closes at 5, your clock may say 4:01 but the post offices is closed because it's a government building and in that building it's 5:01 and past closing time.  ???  ::) :P

Whoever came up with the idea for that county should get a one way trip behind the ol woodshed ::)

Really will be a mess for the first year.  Everything thats normaly set not to change will need updated.  And next year when the dates change, computers that are set to auto change will need a download to change the date for them...What a beautiful mess we are in ;D

As far as time goes, when the sun has reached it's highest point in the sky, that is 1pm exactly. So why not keep it that way?

Over here in the Colony we sprung ahead an hour in the wee morning hours.

We also use:
Spring ahead
Fall back

Seems to work well.

Cheers....Happy Landings...Doug
