Daylight Savings Time..

Postby Hai Perso Coyone? » Sat Mar 25, 2006 3:09 pm

Isn't today the day that us Europeans set back our clocks? Or do we set them one hour ahead? I have no idea...we put our clocks back and hour right? My dad insists that we put it forward...but I thought we put it forward like in October or something...Some mind helping me out? I'm a n00b at this stuff...LOL...I've never had experiences with Dayligght Savings Time...We never had it in Sudan... ;D

A little logic would help you out here!

As it will now get dark later, you'll have to move the clocks FORWARD. If it get's dark at 18.00 now, you'll want to move it to 19:00 in order for it to get dark then, which is later! ;D

I hope that makes sense... but yes... FORWARD!

If I understand what you're saying that would be double summertime all year round. I don't know where you are smashie but I've not heard anything about that here. People have very short memories. They tried messing around like that back in the 70s & there were so many protests they had to go back.

Anyways, it's now 2.09 am where I am. Time for bed. :D

I don't even want to get started on DST, it's political stupidity, just leave the clocks where they're supposed to be instead of trying to decide for the rest of us what time it should be.
Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...

Ah, that old chestnut crops up on a regular basis. Someone always wants to change things. ::)
Been there done that. Tried it & didn't like it. The current way is best & much safer, trust me.

Don't know where he got those stats from either. ::)

"Lord Tanlaw's system would mean clocks no longer reverted to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in October, but would stay one hour ahead until March. Another hour would then be added until the following October."

Ugh... that would be awful. That would mean that in the summer (around 21st June), it would be going on 11pm before it gets dark... That's just not right, unless you live in the Arctic Circle!

I bet it's coming people who are afraid of ghosts! ;D
