Quite a discovery though. I used to read all of the space stuff I could find, and I always thought that those ice moons held the most promise for life.

Very interesting indeed. As far as life elsewhere in our solar system goes, I'm very sceptical, and I really don't expect us to find anything of interest there life-wise. Still, I'll try to keep an open mind on this one.

Either way, it's a great discovery, and it'll give us something new and exciting to shoot for.

You know, most would assume that when someone says "life elsewhere in space" [or something similar to that effect] they would assume little, green [or grey] men with lots of technology. But, in real life, researchers are just looking for something that's at least "living". And when they say living, anything can come to mind. Whether it's a pile algei or fungus, a fish, or a real little green man.

And to add to that, whose to say that we (as in the human race) will recognize alien life when we find it? This would be something that came about and evolved in what could be a completely different environment. It may not even fit the description of life as we know it.

This is true. Still (IMO), finding ANY sort of life (whether it's humanoids or algae blobs) would be something of a long shot. And, given the little incident we had with the "fossils" from Mars, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Which isn't to say that I don't think there's at least a small possibility that something's lurking in that ice. I'd certainly be thrilled if they found something, but at the same time, I wouldn't be half surprised if there was nothing there but ice-water.

Europa,Jupiter's moon its warmer and has the same conditions,there's a robotic spacecraft(i Think) traveling toward there or there's a project running out,I'm very sure we all will get suprise,with protobacteria and even bacterias it self could be discovered......What did you think I was gonna said fish or little green men
