This is what perturbs me. The article mentions how newspaper companies don't like the internet because it essentially takes business away from them. The same goes for networks and countless other companies. The only reason they have an argument is because they have a monopoly. Now that the internet is challenging their monopoly, they don't like it. Same thing with the whole straight-to-DVD-skip-the-theatres issue. Theatres are afraid they'll go out of business? Good! They're a way of a the past, and if they only serve a niche group, then they deserve to get niche profits. Let the old ways die.
It's be nice if we could stop the muscling around by gib companies, but alas, politicians are just normal people, and everyone has their price.
