Doesn't your name always stay the same?  Wouldn't the name just go to however they pronounce it?  Michael to Miko? by Japanese?  Michael to Mikhail by Russians?  Tsuksowara doesn't turn into Fred, after all.  Seems like a game of dress up and fantasy if you ask me. ::)

mine is "Me te ari rin"

But wouldnt a japanese speaker just hear the letter sounds?
instead of CraigL they wouls interpret it as C R A I G L


Actually it would be pronounced:

Ku  - re- gu  Eh ru

koo -ray-goo ehh-roo

Wakarimasu ka.  (Understand that?)

I don't think so. In fact Japanese names are defined by their meaning. For example a usual female name is Akiko and it means "Autumn child" (Aki=Autumn, Ko=Child). Another one is Yumi meaning "Gentle Beauty" (Yu=Gentle, Mi=Beaty).
No, I don't speak Japanese. I just used to know a Japanese girl.

Most Greek names have meanings as well. My First name is "Nikolaos" (Niko=Win, Defeat, Laos= People, Nation, all together "He who deafeats people", a conqueror maybe). My Last name means "Hot-Tempered" or "Hasty".
A Hot- Tempered Conqueror (LOL).

Ja Ne. (="See you" in Japanese).

Anyway, I had much more "fun" with this, and it actually sounds like a Japanese version of your name.

Although I would say I've long since lost all my imagination.  When I sit down with a piece of pecil and paper.  It's just blank.  I used to draw up all sorts of wild things.  Everything from maps to airplanes.  Now - blank.  I suppose it's part of the process. ;D
