Holy crap! Can you say oops?

Postby bbstackerf » Fri Jan 20, 2006 6:44 pm

Just saw on the news just now. A lady in Orlando Florida went into the hospital to have a baby, and came out 12 days later a quadruple amputee!

The hospital refuses to tell her what happened, and is basically telling her now that if she wants to know she'll have to sue to get them to release info even though by federal law they have to disclose to her what happened.

There was nothing wrong with her other than being pregnant when she went in. The hospital who wants to charge her for the amputations ::) claim she had  contracted the so called flesh eating virus as well a whole list of other bacterias and viruses.

Can you say "I now own your hospital"?

Keni ??? ::)

I would really wait to find out the hospitals reasoning for this. After all no one can accidentally amputate all four limbs...

How can another unknown patient be involved in this? The mystery might be as deep as anyone thinks. For all I know, she might not like the information anymore than what happened to her extremities.

Patients do have the right to know. However, if the hospital is going as far as violating such a law, admitting the violation, and then intentionally risk lawsuit while continuing to violate it, then they might have a very good reason for doing so. Otherwise, it will be complete career suicide for the hospital.

Think about it. What other patient is involved? If another patient is involved, how does that unkown patient have anything to do with the disease and this woman's condition? What if that unknown patient is someone she least expects?

I'm not supporting the hospitals actions in this. In fact, the hospital is required to follow the law and must let her know. I'm just pointing out the possibilities on why this is happening.

The hospital "says" that she had streptococcus, a flesh eating bacteria, and toxic shock syndrome, but the fact that they're being vauge raises my suspisions.

You'd have thought they'd have discussed it with her first.....

Perhaps, they had to do it there & then, to stop her being eaten away?

Call me sick, but, I'm wondering how she managed to file a complaint, I thought she had no limbs?  :P ;)

That is sick...::)  consider that they didn't think to remove her tongue (careless of them!)...

BTW, I wonder what happened to the baby... or do I want to know?
