hey richie, is that mike adamle?!

No, its Tim Wrightman.  He was the #2 tight end on the Bears in 1985 and 1986.  He was drafted by the Bears with the 62nd pick (3rd round) as a TE in 1982 from UCLA where he was a consensus All-American.  But, he choose to go play in the new USFL instead (he was the first player to join the USFL).  When the USFL folded in 1985, he signed with the Bears who still held rights to him from the 1982 draft.  He only played in the NFL for 2 years because of injuries but was a member of the Super Bowl XX Championship team and played in the Super Bowl.

Been a Seahawks fan since '79. I've stuck with them through thick and thin. They've never got any respect from anyone. Even the comentary guys during the games always seem to come up with an excuse for the other team when the Hawks win. They had a chance last year. Were even picked by SI to go all the way, but the receivers let them down. Thank god they finaly got rid of Koren Robinson. Holmgren said he kept him on cuz when he did catch one it was usually a big play. Hasselbeck's not the best QB by any means, but he's good enough that if he has a good game and Jackson, Alexander, Jurevicius and Engram do they're part and don't have a melt down like the Hawks usually seem to at crunch time, they have as good a chance as any. What ever the case, I think it's going to come down to the defensive secondary - they're going to win or lose this one.

I'm not sayin' they'll make it to the bowl, but christ knows they're due. If they do happen to make it, holy cow talk about a town goin nuts!

Goin way out on a limb here, but I'm thinkin the Hawks and Colts in the bowl.

Keni ;)

Hasselbeck's not the best QB by any means,

This is one thing about the Seahawks that I don't understand.  There is nothing wrong with Hasselbeck but nobody seems to give him the credit he deserves.  He has had an excellent year and its not his first good season.  He is a fine QB, sure there are a few better in the NFL, but not a lot by any means.  He finally got some credit by making it to the Pro Bowl, and he's the starter (I wish Delhomme was the starter being a Panthers fan-but Hasslebeck truly deserves it).

Now, I do miss the old uniforms...don't really care for the new ones but I'm not a big Seahawks fan-never have been.  Dispite them being the closest team to my home.

The thing is, Hasslebeck is part of a system, that being the west coast offence. Where as guys like Manning brady and Palmer are all "the system" in downfield offences. West coast offence QB's rarely get the credit they deserve because the big numbers are not there in the TD and yardage column. I would love to see Shannahan and Holmgren go at it again, both being students of Bill Walsh:)

Thats true.  Of course, the one big exception is Montana.

Another is John Elway who gets mentioned alot despite being a part of that system.

I don't know if Elway would really be considered a West Coast QB.

You nailed the Denver situation down :) what I meant was when Shanahan took over, not before. The Broncos running game before hand consisted mainly of Elways ability to scramble, this was though the teams downfall in the long run and why they couldn't win the big one. The moment Shanny adds the Running game and Alex Gibbs perfected the zone blocking with that offensive line, some of the presure was off Elway to make the plays. I would have to say Marriuci has been unlucky but to run the West  coast offense right, you need 3 things consistantly working every play, an Offensive line who can block, a running game that gets yards every time its used and a QB who can scramble. Detroit dont have any of those things or not consistantly.

Detriot has a QB who can scramble, but he's not a runner.

Dont forget Shannon Sharpe in there aswell. Eventually. LOL. Its what Denver are trying to do now, find that missing ingrediant to go the next level. They have the QB they have the running game right now the weak point on Offense is the receiver spot. They dont have the big dominant receiver that Eddie Mac was. Lelie has the ability but he's not living up to that.  If it wernt for being an injury magnet TD should still be playing today, and I know Mike still asks him every offseason if theres any chance he could come back. It wont happen but it would be cool. And that longevity is why he wont ever get into the HOF despite having the potential.

Just remember though, TD may have been in 81 games, but he only played 2 full seasons. The superbowl years, after Elway left he injured his knee and saw limited action alongside guys like Mike Anderson in 2000 and 2001, he only had 701 yards in 2001 with no TD's and 282 yards and 2 TD's in 2000. He had only 211 yards in 1999 behind Olandis Gary. So in his final 3 years he had fewer carries and fewer yards combined, than the whole 98 superbowl year. Plus unlike Sayers he didn't play kick returns. I really hope your right and that he will get in, its just the general feeling amongst Denver fans is that its unlikely.
