Houston is going to heck in a heckbasket..

Postby Jakemaster » Fri Jan 13, 2006 8:28 pm

My city, Houston TX is quickly becoming a dangerous place.  Here's a quick summary:

Katrina evacuees raised crime
Louisiana teens reeking havok in city high schools, as a result security has been increased
2 teenagers from my school, Bellaire High School, killed in a drug deal incident
A 15 yr old girl (attended BHS), shot and killed her mother
Three teenagers arrested for possesing firearms in an attempt to fraud Crimestoppers (you get money if you help stop a crime)

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, its getting pretty bad down here.  Ever since Hurricane Katrina this city has deteriorated.

When i lived in Houston it was a safe place, it was really a nice place to be aside from the humidity and fire ants and the heat and some other things.

Meh... I live in relatively safe suburbs but Philly seems to be spiralling down further and further every year.

I've got friends in that area. Seems like they have it bad. You just don't hear of things happening like that over here. Well it is so rare when it does happen.

So you dont live in Birmingham then? ;D
No offense Jake but for a big city like Houston those are really quite normal crimes. Its just a case of how often you might hear about them in the news. Not a day goes by here in Birmingham, where someone isn't beaten up, shot, stabbed or robbed for something. You want really bad try living in Toronto, thats a city where crime has seriously gone up in the last 5 years.

Well, crime has never been THIS bad here before.  The worst part of it is that alot of it involves teenagers, which is really scary for me because I am a teenager in houston.
