Well, I don't use supermarket trolleys much myself but I don't think there is a coin compartment on the trolleys. One would think that after a couple of goes at dismantling the handles they would have figured that one out.

The would-be thieves targeted 83 shopping carts at Lidl's supermarket on Essington Way in Peterlee in the early hours of Tuesday.
