I read the link that bbstackerf provided. This article was refering to e-mail spam, not forum or blog spam.

Also, at the end of the article, it clearly states that one of the best way to fight spam is not through legal action but through technological action such as activating filters, avoid opening spam. Basicaly, it's a techno form of self-buddie care. Hell, I have already taken such steps. Why do you think I recieve so little spam [1 per day] for my private e-mail? I simply allow my other use-and-throw-away e-mail addresses  to take the brunt of the spam attacks.

So, for those of you who make it sound like another big-brother issue, think again.

I don't see how that could be done without some sort of global legislation. Knowing how difficult it is to get two governments to agree on anything I think that would be impossible.

This is where the UN comes in. They want control of the internet. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/3300071.stm

As far as prosicution goes, this is where the FBI comes into play. They have been doing overtime and shutting down web sites all over the place. I'm wondering why people are getting "off shore" hosters. Like .co.uk etc etc.
