Well, I think that Carolina's performance today shows they are the best team in the NFC South.  After beating the Atlanta Falcons 24-6, they have a 1 game lead over Tampa Bay (who they play next week) and a 2 game lead over Atlanta.  If they beat Tampa next week (Carolina beat them 34-14 in week 9), they will have all but locked up the division.  Although they wouldn't have officially won it, it would be their's to lose.

It was a great game for the Panthers Richie, the one we got here.
I'll tell you what though, you cant remove the smile from my face, Broncos lining up had to do a double check as i saw number 11 behind centre. Mr BVP got his first NFL touchdown ;D

Well, now the college bowls have been released.  I can't say that I'm suprised, but its kind of sad really.  How can a major conference team that is 10-1 get left out of the BCS for 2 teams that are 9-2, especially when they out rank one of them.

I truly believe that Oregon (10-1) should out rank both Ohio State (9-2) and Notre Dame (9-2) in the BCS.  We do out rank Notre Dame and yet they still get the at large bid to the Fiesta Bowl to play Ohio State.  I think it is really sad that if you lose 1 game to the best team in the nation (USC) because you played a bad half (we were winning at half time against USC, I was there) you end up playing in the Holiday Bowl.  If the old bowl system was still in place I wouldn't complain, but this is why the BCS was made.

This needs to end, everything needs to be decided on the field, not in computers.  As much as I love the bowls, we need a playoff.

But, until then, we get to play unranked Oklahoma in our bowl game.   :-/

Hi Richie where did Bama end up?
Personally I dont see the Hype over Notre Dame, they have lost 2 games one at home and they have played bad teams. oregon have done very well. Its just this crap about Weis and Quinn, neither have been that impressive. Heres to them getting blown out at least.

Looks like PSU is off to the Orange Bowl as expected, but now instead of VT we're playing the noles.... odd change of events.  I foster a deep hatred for any team from Florida though, so it will be an exciting game to watch ;D

Plus, with LSU messing up against the Bulldgos, we're now the undisputed #3 in the nation.

Penn State can still be national champs if both USC and Texas lose in the Rose Bowl! :P

I was hoping that Oregon would end up playing Penn State but in recent weeks that began to look less and less likely.  I was invisioning a rematch of the 1995 Rose Bowl but with a reversed result, I was thinking 38-20 Oregon this time around.   ;D ;)

Oh well Denver loose that one. Not a huge surprise Denver as you can see have the softest of the end of season schedules so not a big deal this one. :'(

Hi Richie where did Bama end up?

Sorry Craig, I missed this until just now.

If nobody else has said it yet, #13 Alabama (9-2) will play #15 Texas Tech (9-2) in the Cotton Bowl on January 2nd.  The Cotton Bowl is a very historic bowl game that usually has poor weather and is fun to watch.  Do you know how Alabama does against the pass?  Hopefully for their sake they have a good pass defense or this might be a long game.

Thanks Richie.
Bama have a great defence. One of the best in the NCAA part of the reason they only lost 2 games.

One guy put it best.
Cotton (Jan. 2): Alabama (9-2) vs. Texas Tech (9-2). After the player introductions, there will then be another set for the spectators. Alabama fans, this is what an offense looks like. Tech fans, this is what a defense looks like. ...

I am Looking forward to it. Clausner should be back thus the O-line should once again work properly giving Darby chances to run. And in a very long shot Prothro might be good enough to go in short stints giving Croyle his main target again.

Well, I honestly think the game is going to won in the Alabama offense vs. Texas Tech defense matchup.

It is known that Texas Tech has a great offense and Alabama has a great defense.  Tech will score, you just can't stop that, but you can slow them down.  What I think will make the difference is if the Alabama offense can stay with the Tech offense.  To my knowledge, the Tech defense isn't that good and the Alabama offense had a good start but has had some injury issues.  So, if the Alabama offense can just stay with Tech earily on, I think they will win in the end.

Alabama is a better all around team in my opinion.
