amongst my readings of the daily herald, mount prospect is now going to charge $211 to have umlimited garbage pickup. as far as i knew, garbage pick up as free for the suburbs, as it was coming out of taxes.

disgraceful... there is nothing better to read...

I can understand them putting up taxes a little to pay for any additional costs but not a seperate charge.

pff, we get charged $1.75 for a 911 call, this is a chicagoland-wide service.

We've had to pay for garbage pickup ever since we've lived out here. And this is about as close to the middle of the desert you could get in New Jersey.. ::)

It has not got to that quite yet. The Council tax is horrendous. Over a

Yeah, but they have a tendency to up the council tax and cut the services. I don't think I said otherwise.

It's criminal, but there's an easy way around that...
get the damn biggest bags you can find; wait until you have about a months' worth of trash bagged up in regular-sized bags,then  put them all in the one big bag with one sticker.
As to where to "stage" the bags; most homes have a guest room...

Too right it does & they will only take what they fancy taking. We have to pay an exorbitant price for special green bags to put garden refuse in & guess who supplies them? It's possible to get far cheaper green bags but they won't take them unless they have the council logo on them.
