So Britain DID get something into space first

The conflicting information you get when you're young . I remember it being rumored that the British had very little outer space left -- they did, however, have vast amounts of empty inner space! You've now given indication of that statement being a fallacy and, if air relates to gas, possibly corroberated the old conflicting statement: "they each have enough hot air to send a rocket to the moon."
Now why haven't you been leading the space race -- what a waste!
