Problem

Ok...I downloaded a game and tracks for it. The tracks are .gbx files, but i opened them with internet explorer because I didn't know what to do. Now I can't play the tracks! Any ideas how I can change it back?

ok, I know there are several ways to do this....

Right click on a problem file. Click on open with, and select the correct program from the lsit..

If this doesn't work or you can't get to the open with dialog box let us know and we can go from there looking for another way to do it..

I don't know what it opened with to start with

1) Open My Documents and click the Tools menu
2) Click on Folder Options...
3) Go to the File Types tab
4) Scroll down to .gpx
5) Click the Restore button
6) Restart (You might not need to do this but then again, you might)

If the restore button is not there, let me know. I'll have another sniff around if it comes to that.

That ought to sort you out.

You may have a problem if you don't know what was supposed to actually "open" it. Often the program it was installed as part of will do so automatically.
It depends upon which OS version you're using as to how it's accessed; you're response indicates you may be using Xp, however. Once you're scrolled to the .gbx entry, the next recourse :

If you know the program you want to open the file, click the change button and make your selection.

If you don't, click on the advanced button which will display your "action" box. If you're real fortunate, the original 'open' command will still be there with along with your flub 'open' now set as the default. You can select each entry and click on "edit" to verify each, then set the proper default (deleting the unwanted 'open' should do the same thing).  If there is no other 'open' listed simply delete your verified flub; you'll be no worse off -- if the tracks still won't play and you can't find the route in your program you'll just have to reinstall (just the tracks, we hope -- if not...).
