So what is Latin-American? Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or a combination of all three?

Kanji are pictographic in orign.  You learn them by rote memorization.  YOu either know a Kanji or you don't.  They have multiple pronunciations (and hence meanings) depending on the context in which they are used.

sounds just like english. we have like 10 different ways to say hello, and they all sound different, and just as many to say goodbye.

...do you know what...?

..every day that I wake up, I am amazed that a small country as England, has generated a successfull international language, such as "English"... ;D...!

Bits and pieces from northern European languages, which fits the bill admirably, to convey to everyone, the accurate meaning of everything... ;D...!

Fantastic...!

It's the Romans who got it wrong with MMV...= 2005... :'(... ;D...!

Japanse has that stuff too.  ;D

There are 8 gazillion ways to say "Excuse me" in Japanese.  And you use them about 16 gazillion times a day  ;D ;D ;D.

But here's an example........ can you say this made-up "English" word ......... wiebilfetzer.  Yup... you could pretty much sound it out even if you didn't know the meaning.

Now pronounce THIS word .........  ???.  Nope... no way to sound it out is there.  How about this word ..........  ???.  Couldn't get THAT one either?   Yes... that was a differrent "word" there.  It was the alternate pronunciation of the character.  There might be a third one.

Hopefully, that sort of made the point.  Spoken formal level Japanese is not that difficult since it is very regular in grammar... reading it is REALLY hard.

And learing the levels of politeness to be used in normal verbal conversation is VERY difficult also.... so you just err on the side of being "too polite"  ;D.

best,

It's because of all of those little rules that I have no desire to go to Japan. My luck, I would probably fart on the wrong side of the fence and shame my family. ::)  ;D
