So what is homecoming ?Coming from me, it sounds like crass trash, but I dont suppose anyone agrees with me...who is coming home? What exactly is home? Why is there a parade?

I think they call it homecoming because that's when the Alumni of the previous years come back for their class reunion?

Let's see... ehrm... enlighten me with your US traditions...

I've heard homecomming, promnight, sophmore, freshmen days? What are they and when are they supposed to happen?

I Belgium we only had 100-days in highschool, in the 6th year ( senior) to celebrate the lday that marks the last 100 days of highschool... It's a fest of shavingcream... loud music and acting stupid and getting silly with the younger students... To bad 2 years before mine they made a BIG mess ad school, so we were deported to visit Leuven ( a Belgian city) ::) and a brewery ... WAY BETTER!  ;D

thats not quite true. we have a parade, most o our opponents have parades, some intercity schools* have parades. even rural schhols have them. mabye just not in your area.

From what I've heard, a full blown freakin parade is somewhat limited in terms of what schools actually do them.  Parties, dances, football game with big band, sure.

Honestly I have no idea. i had never heard of homecoming until freshman year of high school.
