I have to agree as far as the news coverage goes...Weather channel, CNN, etc have had non-stop coverage of Rita and it is getting a tad old :-/

As for now Rita is up here and has been dumping rain on us since last night...The ground is so dry that its not soaking in fast enough and the lower sections of our town are facing some minor flooding isues at the moment...Bad side to living next to a river :P  Luckly I'm on the higher side :-X  though our yard looks more like a pool :-/  Looks as though this is going to last till tommarow.  We needed rain but not this much this fast :-[

I personaly find tornados fascinating unless it is headed for me.  But the ones here mostly hit in fields and the only things lost are a few shingles and some crops.  I remember being at the farm during several storms...You can see for a couple miles across the fields and there was an occasional tornado out there.  Only had one that came a little close for comfort...My boss and I took off for some shelter and the barn we were in got a new skylight :-X But no one was hurt ;)

So really I would rather have a tornado then a huricane...High winds in a tornado for a couple minutes as opposed to high winds from a huricane for hours :-/

Would you like to test out my lancet devices [for glucose monitoring] by pricking those fingers for me? ;D

With a tornado you have what, from 0- to maybe 5 minutes to take cover...yikes :o
...I had a chance to live in tornado alley once and I respectfully declined the offer to move.  ::) ;D
I was not only in tornado alley but in a tornado (I was also in a typhoon; southern hemi. hurricane). The siren went off and I headed for the door (the storm shelter was about a block away). Doubt it was more than 10 seconds for me to get within 2 or 3 feet of the door: the whole place shook and went airborne.
