Guess I need to fill up on gasoline at $2.69/gal. whether I can readily afford it or not. We hope damage is minimal, even with Houston being 50 miles inland: Texas is fairly flat and it could wind up even flatter.

Katrina was the warm-up, this is the real deal.
Have fun and remember: There's nothing that can't fly in a hurricane.

I heard this morning that substained winds were in the 170 range.

Now, don't get your hopes up.  This system is moving slowly off the coast, which means its sucking dry air on one side.  This means a lessening of intensification.

Whether you believe me or not, take these factors into consideration.  Trust me, I'm from Kansas (I don't think that helped my argument)

Be careful how you say that. The last thing we need is a locked thread.

*Katahu opens his case of syringes*

Don't worry, the effect is only temporary.

*Katahu administers a memory injection to everyone involved in the thread*

Ok, that's better.

*One of the syringes falls on Katahu's foot*

*dizziness*

Who the hell are you guys?
