Yippie: I won 350.000 euro

Postby z1010 » Mon Sep 19, 2005 2:05 pm

Great: I recieved an email that told me I won 350.000 euro.

Price of the Irish Lottery Programme. I don't live in Ireland and I never bought a lottery ticket - but I only have to send some personal data to an emailadress and after that, I'm rich!

I think I refuse it. I'm happy with my FS9. But maybe you know someone who wants the 350.000 ? I still have the email (and it's not 'adressed' ....)

(Ever heard of something like this? It's new for me .... How can anyone profit from my personal data .... how does it work?)

You can about bet it's a phishing scam out to get your personal data for ID Theft purposes.

Wouldn't bother with them...Almost 99.99999999999.....% of those are junk.  Just trying to get you info so they can send you more junk...and or if they want credit card #s and such then they are after your money.

Lets see...if all those junk emails were true then ide be on my own tropical island with billions of $$$, more stuff then i could possibly use, and some more personal deals ::) :P

You can mess around with them, if you have the time.  Make them think you believe the scam and see how far they'll go to get some money out of you.  It can be pretty fun sometimes  ;)

Oh, and in case you're wondering, it IS a scam.

I have had countless urgent ebay "Confirm Your ID or else that's you fined or dumped off ebay" emails. Makes me annoyed as some poor older person would fall for that. >:(

Older person .. and younger persons - my children wanted me to react: my 15 year old daughter telefoned me at my work: "You have won 350.000 euro. Shall I react?" I said no - and had a lot to explain when I came home ....

She understands now. But my 9 years old son doesn't ....

I have three children using Internet. I don't like this - Irish Lottery Programme.

(But I like 350.000 euro )

'I' got a phonecall rather like that yesterday. It sort of went like:

"Hello?"
Woman with an American accent (bearing in mind I live in England) "....*cuts in* Hello. I have called to tell you that your family has won..."
*hangs up*

My parents have always told me to ignore things like this, and its very satisfying to!
