Bazza we need you to video this...

What with people saying how little they trust politicians, and how you can't rely on their word it is nice to see in New Zealand they've got one who is truthful and a mand of his word, oh and barking mad!!!

A New Zealand politician who pledged to run naked through the street if a rival candidate won Saturday's election has promised to keep his word.
Green Party MP Keith Locke had pledged to strip off in his Epsom constituency if Act Party leader Rodney Hide won the Auckland seat.
Seen as a long-shot, Mr Hide surprised pundits by winning a big majority.
Mr Locke said the Greens were a party of their word, and he did not want to break an election promise.
"We haven't set a date, we've got preparations to do in terms of choreography," Mr Locke told the Associated Press on Monday.
When asked about his nude run, he said: "It will be artistic and it will involve body paint."
A local business group, the Newmarket Business Association, has taken pity on the politician.
"We don't want our electorate to be the home of the first broken campaign promise," general manager Cameron Brewer told local media.
"When Mr Locke is ready, the Newmarket Business Association will warn the faint-hearted, clear the footpath...[and] ensure there are the necessary officials," said Mr Brewer.
He also said paramedics would be on hand, to look after Mr Locke as well as witnesses.
He added that he was happy to supply the lawmaker with a loin cloth if required.
"Newmarket is home to the country's best shopping. We don't want Mr Locke's organics to frighten away any of our customers so we will provide some cover, albeit skimpy," he said.

Ps. No making this a political thread, jogging only ;)

Sounds like Lady Godiva & Peeping Tom & we all know what happened to him - or maybe we don't.* ??? I can't see what all the fuss is about myself. We don't seem to have progressed much, if at all, since the Dark Ages. I often think we're going backwards. ::)

*For those who haven't got the faintest idea of what I'm talking about. ;)

Mr HYDE being returned was the event of the Election and defied all the views of the Political pundits - I think Mr LOCKE thought he was on safe grounds.   Everyone else thought he was "dead and buried."

If I really thought you wanted a copy Ozzie I'd begin taking steps but......(stops here for reasons of rule enforcement regarding alternate sexual behaviour type topics....)

Now if you wanted streaker type footage - did you see the rather impressive young lady streaking across the putting green while New Zealander Michael Campbell was preparing to putt for his One Million pound payday...?    He missed that shot, fortunately recovered later.   In fact it appeared his nind was totally on the money, I don't think he even looked.

I can assure you that Mr LOCKE will never be in that class...LOL

Anyway, well spotted Mark, good to see you're keeping an eye on NZ Politics..

I just find this sort of ritual humiliation hysterical. I did a thread a while back in the Auto forum with regard to a British journalist who last year said that if McLaren won the British GP this year he'd run a circuit of Silverstone naked (he actually was obliged to wear a sporan for decency), and he did it!
I'm not a perv but I do have a rather odd sense of humour and I admire anyone who does what they say they will, heck it has landed me in hot water a few times ;D

Funny thing about streakers..........

They suddenly became fashionable and some of the poor sods have taken a frightful beating at the hands of security staff, and on one occasion by being smacked across the butt with a cricket bat.   I have noticed that well-built females go down a lot better than half-drunken male idiots - it also seems to help the crowds sense of humour if the local team are well ahead.     Funny thing, life.... ::)

My very thought, Saitek.

Are you so sure we ever left the the Dark Ages? As to going backwards; if one mounts the horse backwards, it must be contemplated as to [by] which end one's travel is led ??? :-X. ;) 8)
