To come out of the Human Rigths Act (which I'm all for) is not really possible without the collapse of the EU and the UN or a revolution in Britain. Neither are likely.

From where I'm sitting the EU is on its last legs. The UN is in a similar situation so this might not be as unlikely as you seem to think. Failing that, bring on the revolution. Where do I sign up? ;)

have you seen the UN and EU lately? If they last much longer in their current states it will be a mirical. But I say no-more we have already lost one member through some recent problems. I dont want to make it worse.

Thanks for the reminder Craig. It seems that my topic was the cause of that & this one could turn out the same way. It might be best if I stop posting topics & restrict my replies to existing ones but I don't see how anyone can take offence from the truth. This is all I've stated here although some people seem unable to accept that. ::)

Hi Doug, i have no problem what so ever with the topics. I would like to discuss it in detail. Sadly there are some here who just dont. You keep the place interesting with these topics, i just think we have to be careful with them.

OK - I promised not to hijack this and it's another thread on law again! :o

Actually despite all appearences, if I have any understanding of the EU, it has barely wobbled, (and the UN although sidelined and not needed is only that because of the EU - all that is in the UN is in the Europe). The European Court is the highest court in Britain and it plays a massive role in law. To take it away would be almost like taking the wiring out of a car.

P.S No-one should get offended by this - and the last incidence was over religeon anyway not politics.

But I should just keep my chompers closed. :-X

Indeed. I think we should never have agreed to that in the first place. Having given it a fair shot & seeing the results I think we should dump it as soon as possible & get back to reality. Then we might have a chance to start sorting out this horrible mess.

I know it, tell me about it! I could unleash more comments on the EU than most things - but I mustn't.

It's good to hear so much cheer and optimism preached in a single thread. ;D
