B**** of Steel

Postby Ace_777 » Fri Sep 09, 2005 5:16 pm

I guess most of you have seen whats being produced for the masses on channel four.

Its a new comedy show "has special guests (who aren't even that famous) are keen to prove themselves by performing death-defying stunts, holding their nerve during hidden camera set-ups or by being juvenile and stupid in the presence of celebrities"

I was shocked. One comedy sketch was about a naked man walking up the general public asking random questions (while all being recorded). What happens if there was a small child or something near the area where channel four were recording.

Another sketch was of another man going around asking people questions and then implying THEY were being racist (whilst all being recorded).

Another sketch was of a "interviewer" by the red carpet squirting water at celebrities (Look what happend to Cruise at the War of the Worlds premier).

I was wondering if Channel4 could produce such a program. I was also wondering if everybody in the camera shots had to sign some kind of form or another.

Let me know about your views. I think this program is ghastly. I dont like it one bit. It just shows how T.V is beggining to evolve into sordid and sour.

"Reality TV" they call it. It's the lowest form of entertainment if you ask me. Besides I live in reality, I don't need to watch it on TV.

These people need to be shown the error of their ways. I'm not a violent man but if they did something like that to me they would end up in a heap on the floor. Unfortunately this trash is popular with the masses. They wouldn't waste time & money making it if nobody watched it.

who needs TV? the only thing I watch is the Bronco's games and Nascar, other than that, it would be flyin' out my window... I don't read the newspaper either. if there's anything worth watching/reading I'm sure I would hear it somewhere, and that person's credibility is about the same.

Oh blah.  It's a human body.  As long as he isn't doing anything sordid, it shouldn't really matter.  Besides, the way most things are nowadays, I wouldn't doubt most kids are taught the human anatomy down to the finest detail by the third grade. :P It's not as if little timmy hasn't found his own.

As for the show, sounds like the typical bunch of reality TV yawn fests.

How offensive that nonsense is!
Agreed, Ace, this crap sucks!
Agreed, Hagar, if I was presented with that nonsense, I too wouldnt wait to lay the smackdown on them....
Just highlights tihe intellectual quality of the producers and the viewers.

I guess Channel 4 is BBC?

We're so fortunate that American TV has not delved so low (we've delved lower - see HBO).

Substitute Dolphins for Broncos, and college (American) football for NASCAR and I'm good through January.  Then golf season starts again.

Plenty of these shows here in Holland. They started Big Brother here again for the fifth time or so. Now there is a pregnant girl in the house, who will give birth within a few weeks. It will all be on tv. And most of the country is loving it. Newspapers spend complete pages to this nonsense, tabloids are selling millions of copies. Even the government had a debate on this subject. Happy to say neither me nor my wife are interested. We only watch the news and movies which are, luckily, also plenty on tv.

Crash ;)

Nothing to do with the BBC. Channel 4 is the name of one of the terrestrial commercial companies. http://www.channel4.com/
