I just don't like being around them, they make me nervous, accidents CAN and HAVE happened...so yeah, I've shot a shotgun and a 38 Special, but let's just say it's not my first choice for something to do, and I defenitly wouldn't own my own gun... 8)

Why? guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Bullets kill people.

And I have my Airsoft gun that can kill someone if you point it at their temple within a 10 foot radius. And if that dosen't work, a 38oz Louisville Slugger to the cranium should do nicely.

Only in America. *Cough* ;)

:P....lol.... ;D

Well at any rate, anyone entering my home uninvited will be met by a AK-47/ Mak-90 with a laser designator.  :P

Why don't you just prevent anyone fromentering your home by locking the door?
Uncommon in the States, I know, but it surely works. ;)

I may not own a fire-arm, but I do have an eager trigger-finger!  ;D

I and about 99.999 % of all homes live behind locked door at all times. I even have dead bolts in all doors. But a determined burglar will enter through windows, even if it means breaking them. Most burglars try to break into homes that they believe to be unoccupied at the time. Many are surprised by the owners and many burglars get shot as well as many home owners.

But if they force their way into my home. They will be met with an unbelievable amount of firepower.

Before anyone asks, yes, I am more than capable of defending my home and loved ones with deadly force.

State laws vary in the US, but in Florida, anyone entering one's home - uninvited - can be legally repulsed with (up to and including) deadly force - whether it be bare hands, knife, sword, or firearm.

In other states, you literally have to flee until you can't anymore (ex. cornered in a closet) before you can even consider force against the intruder.

I think the law here is that you can use equal force. So if they pull a gun, then you can shoot them. It leaves a grey area though anything could be a deadly weapon if used correctly.

Don't get me started on Florida's laws, or this will become very political very quick.  I'm trying very hard to show restraint here.

Dunno whether or not I'll ever own a gun-I'm very, very good at shooting them though.  I was a good range shooter and when we did trap shooting in Aspen a month ago, I was very good at it.

In the end though, the statistics behind how many homeowners who try to defend their homes with a gun end up dead are a bit too much-I mean, what the hell is an AK gonna do?  You're gonna go full auto in your living room? ::) (not to mention it's too big for proper CQB, you want a sub or a pistol for that)

When defending your home from a single burgalar, the amount of firepower doesn't matter-actually, the less the better (I mean honestly, you're going to shoot up your house?).  The only thing that matters is knowing how to use it-which your average homeowner with a half dozen rifles and pistols doesn't.

When the Russian/Canadian/Osamian paratroopers land on your roof, whip out the AK.  For Joe-can;t-get-a-job-so-he-steals, it's absolutely ridiculous to meet him with that much firepower-again, like I said before, an AK is too big.

Do have an airsoft Beretta though.

We used to have 2 20MM Cannon bullets of a Spitfire in the Garage ;D But they were a bit to unstable so we had to get rid of them. We have 2 Air-rifles  4.5 mm not very strong but ok I suppose...The heaviest you can get without a permit. For me.....I prefer knives... ;D ;D

Just a question... how many people would stay cool enough to use a gun during a robbery?

First off, an AK does have a single shot setting and with the laser designator, a single shot kill would be easy.

Second, I am qualified expert on many different firearms.

Third, An AK-47 is relatively small compared with many assault rifles and is easily maneuvered in small places. The NVA/VC can a test to that in their bunkers.

Fourth, I do have hand guns.

Just a question... how many people would stay cool enough to use a gun during a robbery?

Fifth, those with military training and war experience like me would find it easy.
