Seems you may have seen my response to Steve-O's "Cafe Forum" entry, "The Moon", Hagar. Forgive me that I didn't recognize you. We did get our rescue mission up there soon enough, then? Whew, thought you were moon dust long ago.:'( They couldn't find a bit of cheese left up there so you were sure running on empty. :P

As to the root of this post, because one of the definitions of religion is, "a cause, principle, or an activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion," some would avow this thread is in the religious category. On the personal note, I followed my ministerial internship with a resignation from the 'organization' that certified me; I have not resigned from my 'personal' beliefs but, also fueled by personal experiences, 'personal beliefs' are what they are and I'm not mainstream anything -- so don't go paranoid on my account.
I'm not contending validity one way or another here but, unfortunately, there are opportunists in everything (just look at the scams via the internet): that doesn't, in itself, invalidate the possibility of anything.
Someone said they'd watch ithis closely -- whatever you do, don't blink Fly2e! :P

I guess a John (spelled Jonh, according to Fly2e???) Edwards post is appropriate here, then: aviation buffs are so often in high spirits

Yet I wonder what happens should you be at 30,000 feet when a wing rips completely off, bangs against elevator and rudder, jambing both, and you find the last parachute just left the plane with the last jumper -- which wasn't you:-[  :'(!!! Simulated prayer, simulated prayer:o:o:o !!! ;) :D ....
And talk about as real as it gets: I'm testing out one of my campaign missions, under attack low to the ground and am nearly forced into a tree. I almost leaned completely off of my chair trying to avoid a computer-image tree as if it were real :-[ ::)  -- guess what I uttered: can you loudly say "dog" backwards ;D ;D ;D!

Not me: my standard utterance is the time-honored, classic Pilot's Prayer:
"Oh s**t!!"

Different people worship different things...
In that sort of situation you guys seem to worship what you're about to be; is this the British norm ????

However, according to Fozzer, we're all in violation:
Praying is a definite no-no here as well... >:(...!

Well, Rottydaddy is American so I don't think this is confined to Brits. No worship involved here, simply an expression that seems to fit the occasion. :o ;)

I wasn't inferring that it is confined to the British, rather that, since you automatically "imagine[d] it is the same for Fozzer," it might be the norm on your little overgrown island.
To comparatively think about it, though, if our respective expressions were to go to their respective ends ::), mine's a bit outta there:o but yours rather stinks:-X:-[  -- ;) ;D!!
