I've seen the John Edwards that you are speaking of and he is an astonishing man and seems to have a great gift. But there are so many skeptics and non believers that you shouldn't be surprised if this blows up into a Religious flame war. I myself believe in life after death.

A real shame, this would be a very interesting topic to discuss. But I'll bet it gets locked fast.

If I say what I think someone will probably get upset & before you know it this topic will be locked. That's the reason it was decided to crack down hard on politics & religion on this forum after a lot of bad feeling was stirred up recently, I suspect quite deliberately by one or two members. The exact words were "zero tolerance". I should point out that I was against a complete ban but you can't have it both ways. Either a subject is banned or it's not. I'm sorry Alrot but I think this topic should be locked now or preferably deleted.

Hey Alex, I know John Edwards. He lives here on Long Island. I have a friend who introduced us over 4 years ago. I have had a personal meeting with him as have a few from my family. Actually, my sister just had a reading with him back in October.

I am not going to say much as some people believe, some do not, some think it is garbage, whatever.
All I can say is that when I had my reading, my grandmother, my grandfather and a few others were there. They had to be as he was referencing things He had no clue about but made perfect sense o me.
It was a bit unnerving and I felt a bit strange for the rest of the day.

Anyway, some believe, some don't

I don't think this deals with religion or politics.

I was typing and when i posted i found this in Hagar's quote
But, they freely admit that their methods are simply a mixture of psychology, neuro-linguistic-programming (NLP) and showmanship. No magic, no real spiritual contact, just a plain old fashioned con which will work on anyone who is either suggestive, superstitious or plain naive

yes maybe a great skills in a corporal lenguage could be a clue, see this is what i mean this is very interesting
and nobody has been offended,Doug as I said,i used to be very exceptical,as you,you know my friend i been more "amaterur cosmologist that astronomers"i used to denied everything,I had some speach at the University of phisics, here about relativism, quamtum mechanics wich the Newtons law as Einstein work doesn't fit btw,but as the time has passed i realize that perhaps i was wrong,I don't know is a fake or true, but ill never said again I don't believe

The South Park episode on John Edwards sums up my opinion:

John Edwards: But, I'm a psychic.
Stan: No, dude. You're a douche.
John Edwards: I'm not a douche. What if I really believed dead people talk to me?
Stan: Then, you're a stupid douche.

Remember this chap? Uri Geller
Over the last five years, Geller has brought (or threatened) many legal actions against those who have dared to criticise him in print. He has abandoned most of them. In 1993 a Florida court ordered him to pay $20,000 to Prometheus books, and in early 1995 he was forced to pay $120,000 to the paranormal investigation organisation, CSICOP, after a four-year court battle involving the magician James Randi.

"The case was thrown out of court, [and] I was ordered to pay 'X' amount. It wasn't my fault, it was all on technicalities. My lawyer didn't file something on time. I don't think there were losses."

He came to England without a penny. He's now a multi-millionaire & living the life of luxury in a country mansion. It all started with bending spoons which any magician worth his salt can do without the benefit of psychic powers & can prove it. I remember him on the Jimmy Young show when he first arrived.

PS. He'll probably sue me now. ::)
